Calderale Substance Misuse Services won silver in the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show with their ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ garden.
The Contour team - made up of service users and mentors collaborated to create a garden symbolic of the journey undertaken in alcohol and drug abstinence.
The garden was showcased in the show from September 13-15.
Hayden Cavanagh CSMS service manager said: “The team have worked together to design and build the garden which draws on their experiences and aids recovery. The prject has helped service users to discover their abilities and skills - which they may not have realised they have which aids reintegration with society and in moving forward in their lives.”
The gardens used recycable materials including plastic and glass bottles to symbolise ‘alcoholism’.
Sue MacDonald, pictured, Contour mentor was “an inspiration in designing and building the garden,” said Mr Cavanagh.
