Taking advantage of a last minute gap in his schedule, the duo behind Hebden Bridge Blues Festival has managed to secure a Calderdale gig for Kirk Fletcher, the man Joe Bonamassa calls “one of the best blues guitarists in the world”, at The Meeting room, Elland, tonight (Monday, October 27, first set 8pm).
“In true Yorkshire style, we’ve also managed to work it so that the entry cost is the lowest on his tour at only £6,” says promoter Paddy Maguire.
Fletcher has played with a variety of renowned artists such as Janiva Magness, Charlie Musselwhite, James Cotton, Pine Top Perkins and Hubert Sumlin and more.
BBC2’s Paul Jones has invited Kirk to play a session for his blues show at the world famous Maida Vale Studios, which will be broadcast during the tour.
The UK tour involves 22 dates and started on October 16.
