CALDERDALE tiling company Dickies has got its future covered.
It has just become the first tile firm in the area to be awarded membership of the Tile Association.

The association was set up in 2000 to represent the wall and floor tile industry in the UK.

"We are really proud to be the first local company to join.

"It means a lot, not just to us but also to our customers who can be assured of the quality of service they are getting," says 30-year-old Peter Gill who owns the company in King Cross, Halifax, with business partner Dean Kelly, 38.

Dickies employs four full-time and three part-time staff and carries stock to the value of around £250,000.

"Most of our suppliers tell us we are one of their top 10 accounts in the UK which means we must be doing something right," says Peter, who joined the company on a YTS scheme at 16 and bought Dickies with Dean two years later.
