It is using the latest cutting edge technology combined with the most traditional fabric.

Heritage will show this new manufacturing technique at its autumn/winter 2009 collection at the Design Council in London tomorrow.

The company, of White Rose Mill, Holdsworth Road, Holmfield, has replicated depths of colour clients could only previously dream of.

Managing director John Kaye said: "The cashmere yarn is digitally printed before being woven, creating depth of colour on both sides of the fabric.

"We are excited by this technique. It gives our customers a massive design edge.

"The sky's the limit now in terms of design."

Heritage Cashmere was established in 1995 by Mr Kaye, but then bought by William Root Ltd, specialists in natural fibre sourcing in 1997.

It also moved to premises in Dean Clough, Halifax.

It expanded in 1998 and moved again to its present Holmfield home.

Mr Kaye led a management buy-out of the company from William Root two years ago.

Last year Heritage Cashmere received an award from the Design Council, emphasing its commitment to a focus on design.
