THE company responsible for the rebuilding of Holy Trinity Church of England School, Savile Park Road, Halifax, has been nominated for a prestigious "Built in Quality" award.
Aedas Architects, one of the four largest building companies in the world is entered in the Community Projects category for the project valued at £6,140,000.

The awards ceremony will be held at The Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford, on June 12.

It took just 18 months to rebuild the school after it burned down.
Headmaster Roger Bateman said: "The new building is amazing. I couldn't be happier with it."

It would be the second award for the school which this year gained a Halifax Civic Trust award.

Also nominated in the same category is Bovis lend lease for the development of the Bexley Wing at St James's Hospital in Leeds, and Steven Booth for Scholes Cricket Club in Huddersfield. The presentation event will include a charity raffle in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The school was reduced to a pile of smouldering rubble in an arson attack in February 2003.

It took 60 firefighters more than two hours to bring the blaze under control.

The new school is two storeys high.

Mr Bateman said: "It's stylish, futuristic, it has a 'wow' factor. The children love it.

"They are genuinely proud of it and it inspires them to look after it and to learn."
