A PARTNERSHIP has been forged between frontline workers to get more jobs and training help out to the public.
Anyone wanting advice and support can contact the employment and training advisers based at the new Doorways project.
Jobcentre Plus, Calderdale Council and housing organisations have joined together to offer the services at the Doorways office in the Woolshops Centre, Halifax.
Advisers Linda Johnson, Janet Patterson and Tina Hutchinson, from three different organisations bring with them knowledge and experience.
They can help people get into learning, training or employment either at the office or they can go out to visit people in their local areas. Linda Johnson, an Employment and Training Advisor, employed by Calderdale Council said; "Doorways offers Calderdale's residents help and support with housing related issues. This is the next step in ensuring Doorways is a one stop shop for all our clients needs."
The community-based support provides help and advice with job searches, CVs, application forms and interview techniques as well as letting people know about local training opportunities.
Janet Patterson, an outreach employment and training advisor from Jobcentre Plus, said: "If you live anywhere in Calderdale we can arrange to meet you at a location near to where you live.
"The good news is that the Jobcentre are still receiving large numbers of vacancies from local employers and we can help you to get the job you want."
And Tina Hutchinson, from Jobcentre Plus, added: "We have already helped a lot of people move forward into training or work. Why not get in touch with us? You've got nothing to lose."
To arrange to see a Doorways' adviser ring or text 07855 319928 or call into the Doorways shop at 18-20 The Square, Woolshops, Halifax.
