The Mayor of Calderdale has been shown around one of the last carpet mills in Britain.
Avena Carpets, Bankfield Mill, Halifax, welcomed an official visit by Martin Peel for a guided tour of its dye house, yarn house, weaving, and sewing rooms.
The factory was established in 1976 and is thought to be one of the three last factories producing trademark narrow loom woven Wiltons in Britain.
Director Nick Crossley, said: "It is the first time the mayor has come here and it is an honour to have him to see our work and indeed a textile firm still going on in West Yorkshire."
Mr Peel said: "The firm is one of the success stories of our town."
Avena's 28 employees produce 300 square metres of carpet a week to ship off to Europe and North America.
