TOWN'S players still believe they can take the club up this season despite the latest setback against Radcliffe Borough.
That's the view of Cavell Coo, who also admitted that Halifax were making harder work of achieving their goal than they should be.

Saturday's 1-1 draw took the Shaymen four points clear at the top of the table although many of their rivals have sufficient games in hand to overhaul them.

Despite that, Coo believes Town just have to keep picking up points and putting pressure on their rivals.

"We are making it hard for ourselves," admitted the defender. "But it is still in our hands.

"It is up to us to make sure we win and get as many points as we can.

"Then we can look to see how the teams with games in hand go on."

Town get the chance to post a much-needed victory on Saturday when they travel to rock bottom Salford City who have won just one league game all season.

"We will be disappointed with anything less than three points," said Coo. "Every team we play against ups their game.

"We have to make sure we match that and make our quality show as well.

"It will be like a home game for me because I am from Manchester.

"I am looking forward to putting on a performance for the fans who have been great."

Town will have to avoid a repeat of the sloppy play against Radcliffe last weekend if they are to pick up the points at Salford.

And Coo admitted that the team were disappointed not to have picked up a maximum haul to extend their advantage at the top to six points.

"We were definitely looking for the three points because we were the only top team playing and we were looking to pull away," he said.

"We had beaten Radcliffe convincingly away not long ago and were expecting the same at home.

"The conditions were not the best. The ground was really hard and it was difficult to do what you wanted to do.

"But there are no excuses because it was the same for both sides.

"We just needed to kill the game really and make sure we didn't concede."

I agree with the above comment. The lads on the park are trying their hardest to give the Town a competitve team. Which we have. I have been shocked in the past few years by the lack of football knowledge from these people that Boo. New teams take time. Thank god we are not Scarborough fans! This team will deliver lets support them!! Come on Shaymen.

well i dont agree with the booing from the fans that did it. we are trying are best with what we have.
but for some reason the manager is the most tactically rubbish manager at the moment we have. he never plays the top goalscorer maybe the reason why we are not scoring goals. he plays gedman and for some reason we play the ball in the air when i could probably cant the amount of headers he wins on one hand. and we only use one side of the pitch. we all huddle together teams are getting room because they have people on both wings and we have to chanse out there when they play the ball. why cant we play with someone out there all the time. dont boo. but he has to get his tactics sorted or we can forget about promotion.
