Angling: Bold show in finale clinches title for Rob

Rob McKendry's second place in Todmorden Angling Society's final trophy match of the season was enough to give him the overall title.
McKendry totalled 289 points to beat Graham Mallinson (278), Mick Clegg (272) and Andy Fletcher (262).
John Mellor used pellet and meat on a pole to take the final match honours at Croft with 14lbs 10ozs of fish. McKendry had 13lbs 12ozs and Chris Oliver completed gthe placings with 13lbs 4ozs.
The final match of 2009 is the Grand Xmas Match for members on December 13. Tickets are £12 for seniors and £6 for juniors and the price includes food afterwards.
