Angling: Richmond bags carp to see of Tod challengers

Wayne Richmond caught five carp to beat 18 rivals in Todmorden Angling Society's club trophy match at Cliviger top pond.
He used pellet on a pole to weigth in 24lbs 6ozsw of fish and beat Steve Hall (22lbsw 5ozs), Graham Mallinson (16lbs 10ozs), Paul Wilkinson (15lbs 4ozs) and Tony Green (7lbs 6ozs).
The next trophy match is at Croft on Sunday week and junior matches start on Friday, May 16 at Cliviger top pond (6.15).
Good ides, stock bream and carp are being caught at Cliviger, where the weeds have almost gone, while good bream and stock carp are being landed at Portsmouth reservoir.
