Hunt, who runs for City of Hull AC, sped around the undulating course in 35 minutes 39 seconds.
He was followed home by Harriers Harriers Ian Whitehouse (36.06) and Mark Mason (36.42) to easily win the team prize for the promoting club.
Other Harriers to shine were Mark Crabtree, eighth overall and the top over 45 runner in 37.48, and Geoff Cumber, who won the over 60 category with 13th place in 39.06. Fellow veteran Richard Spendlove of Calder Valley was 51st in 43.33.
Local lady Jo Waites, who runs on the road as unattached, produced a fantastic run to be ninth overall in 37.54, while Sarah Cumber took second place among the women in 17th overall, leading Harriers to a team double.
Cumber clocked 39.37 and Elizabeth Sanderson (52nd in 43.34) and Linda Crabtree (59th in 44.22 and first over 45) provided the support.
Third woman was Stainland's Lorraine Naylor (23rd in 40.57) and clubmate Tanya Seager was next (44th in 42.43) and first veteran 35.
The event, which took place in perfect weather and included 28 runners from Halifax Harriers and 49 from Stainland Lions, was followed by a social evening and prize giving at the sports club.
Halifax Harrier Dene Townend, who came 38th and is also a race organiser and committee member for the Harriers, was presented with a cake to mark his 50th birthday.
