Matt Calland's side have scored 120 points in their last two matches - against Sheffield and Ovenden - but their coach has still demanded more fluency going forward from last season's beaten Grand Finalists.

"There were some flashes on Sunday against Ovenden of it working, and it will come good for us, hopefully tonight," said Branighan, whose new scrum base partnership with another Australian, Ben Black, has been in the spotlight.


"I don't think it's just about Ben and myself, it's a whole team thing.

"We have some new players and new combinations and it's how those players - the one, nine, seven, six, 13 - work together.

"It's a matter of the team listening to the calls and going through with those calls.

"When we go away from the gameplan though, it always comes back to the six and seven.

"We have a lot of ball players in the side and while everyone is working hard to fit in, it's probably taken a little bit longer than we expected."

Ironically, Branighan - who claimed four tries in the 88-10 romp against Ovenden - believes the considerably tougher challenge presented by Karl Harrison's Bulldogs is more likely to bring the best out of their visitors.

"We played some good footy at times on the weekend, but when there's spaces everywhere like that it's difficult not to overplay and I think a few of us were guilty of that, myself included," said Branighan.

"Tonight won't be like that, but if we do the basics right and get in amongst it, then the spaces will come at the back end of each half."
