LAUREL Crescent pair David and Tracy Atkinson won the Elland League's Norman Nicholl Mixed Pairs event at Halifax BC on Sunday.
After a runaway win over clubmates Michael Briggs and Brenda Scanlon in the semi-finals, they accounted for Brendan Malone (Sowerby West End) and Debbie Ogden (Mytholmroyd WM) by 15-10 in a final which was neck and neck until the closing stages.

David, 69, won the event back in the early 1980s when partnered by Margaret Slater (Keighley) but this was his first triumph in the competition when partnered by his daughter-in-law Tracy.

Twenty pairs took part and players had to contend with a green slowed by rain between the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
