ALAN Tizard, the President of the British Crown Green Bowling Association and the Regional Coach for South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and the Potteries came to Halifax BC to meet some bowlers who have just taken up the sport.
They have been introduced to the game through coaching courses organised by Marion Reynolds who has been assisted by other members of the club.

Coaching courses at Halifax have been running for the last three years, usually beginning at Easter and running for six weeks.

As a result of the coaching, Halifax will next season be running three teams in the Yorkshire Parks League, two teams in the ladies' Brighouse Evening League and three teams in the Halifax Senior Ladies League.

The new bowlers welcomed Tizard's advice and coaching tips during a visit when he also met Yorkshire Crown Green Bowling Association Vice President Sheila Whiteley.
