LEEDS United will come up against former assistant manager Gus Poyet when they travel to Brighton tomorrow.
Poyet was installed as the Seagulls boss last week and has steered them to back to back wins over Southampton and Wycombe.
"He's a great character," keeper Casper Ankergren told the club's website.
"He's a special guy, he has a big heart and always
helps people. I have great respect for him.
"I was a bit surprised to see him join Brighton, but the chairman must be willing to back him. They are building a new stadium and this season will be about survival and next season we will see a new Brighton team.
"I watched them play Southampton last Sunday and they won 3-1 which was a great result. They'll be up for it on Saturday."
Rui Marques is making good progress on his return from injury and featured in a behind closed doors game with Middlesbrough this week.
Paddy Kisnorbo and Alan Martin are back from international duty while Sam Vokes is also expected to join the squad.
Tresor Kandol is still sidelined as he serves the last of his three-game suspension.
