The Calderdale team in the Huddersfield Handicap produced a flawless performance to whitewash bottom of the table David Browns.
This result was even more impressive as Calderdale weakened its team to try and reduce their handicap. They ended up needing to win 5-1 to come out on top, having given their opponents three start.
This maintains Calder-dale's place in the top fo
ur going into their bye round.
The difficulty is picking a good side without being too high in the handicap. In every game the team has had to win 4.5 to 1.5 or more, which is a tough ask.
In the Calderdale League, Huddersfield showed that despite not being as strong this year as previously, they still know how to win. They ground out a success against Belgrave with everyone contributing and are going to be Hebden Bridge A's main challengers.
In the other match, Brighouse had a narrow win over Halifax despite defaulting a board. It could be a difficult season for Halifax.
