Published Date: 28 June 2008
THE consortium controlling professional football in Halifax has broken its two-week long silence with a brief update.
They say progress is being made, but there are no specifics in the release and further information is now expected early next week.
The statement in full is:
"As suggested in the last announcement dated June 13 we fully expect news to be released during the very early part of next week.
"Progress is being made on a number of fronts and we are waiting for a number of approvals to be confirmed in writing.
"As soon as we are able to release some good news, we will be delighted to do so.
"We fully appreciate everyone is keen to know what is going on, but we have to wait for other parties to complete their own procedures and processes, before we can go public.
"We are very keen to show that football in Halifax is very much alive and kicking.
"Everyone is doing their best to ensure we will be ready for the kick off on the August 16."

They are clearly waiting for written confirmation of acceptance into the unibond..... which is outside their control.....commonsense...professional.. call it what you will, to wait for full, legal notice of acceptance before announcing any further plans, wouldn't you say?....Wouldn't to do otherwise be somewhat reckless??
