Cricket - England v New Zealand: Hoggy still out

THERE was no place for Matthew Hoggard in England's line up for today's First Test against New Zealand which was set to start at Lord's this morning.
The selectors have kept faith with their winning line-up from New Zealand and picked an unchanged side.

Having named a 12-man squad for the start of the three-Test npower series, England decided to leave out recalled Yorkshire seamer Matthew Hoggard from their starting line-up.

It means they entered the match with an attack led by player of the year Ryan Sidebottom and backed up by Nottinghamshire seamer Stuart Broad and Lancashire's Jimmy Anderson, with Monty Panesar providing the spin option.

Durham all-rounder Paul Collingwood has passed himself fit following a third injection into his troublesome right shoulder.

However, a poor forecast threatened prospects of play.
