Barkisland continued their great form by surging into the last 16 of the Heavy Woollen Cup on Sunday.
Paul Winrow's side, second in the Huddersfield League's Premiership, beat Cedar Court side Kirkheaton in a second round tie.

Winrow led the run charge with 94 of Barkisland's 308 for nine, Darren Robinson cracking 75 and Matthew Steers an unbeaten 40.

The visitors were never really in the hunt and Steers and Ben Wells grabbed three wickets apiece as Kirkheaton were dismissed for 155.

Brighouse, who got through courtesy of a bowl out win over Moorlands, travel to Wrenthorpe on Sunday.

A disappointing weekend for Northowram Fields was completed by a Jack Hampshire Cup exit at Birstall where Richard Lees (40) and Matt Rushworth (33 no) led a recovery from 26 for six to 147 for nine.

However, the home side's two overseas men - one has a British passport - continued their superb form to post a nine-wicket win.
