HALIFAX Under 21s have again fallen foul of fixture clashes when they make a belated first appearance of the season in the White Rose Trophy competition against the Aire/Wharfe League at Knaresborough on Sunday (1.30).
Simon Wood's side forfeited their first round tie against the Bradford League when it clashed with the Parish Cup and Crossley Shield and another date could not be agreed.

They are below strength for this weekend's plate semi-final due to last f
our games in the Halifax cup competitions.

Wood himself will be playing for SBCI in the Parish Cup, leaving league officials Leyland Smith, David Normanton and Peter Taylor to take charge of a side shorn of the services of eight players.

Triangle's Adam Kershaw, Kurtis Whippey and Nathan Madden, SBCI's Dan Keighley and Tom Wood and Mytholmroyd's Tom Earle are playing in the Parish Cup while Northowram Hedge Top's Chris Metcalf and Booth's Richard Laycock are in action for the league's open age select side.

However, most of the side have played representative cricket at under 17s level and players such as Richard Moore, Nicki Hutchinson, Oliver Collinge and Luddenden Foot's Zimbabwean bowler Ian Nicolson have been in good form this season.

HALIFAX WHITE ROSE : R.Moore (Northowram HT), S.Hinchliffe (SBCI), A.Gawthrope (Sowerby), N.Hutchinson (Cpt, Thornton), S.Shannon (Bradshaw), S.Butterworth(Booth), T.Whiteley (Wkt, SBCI), B.Orchard (Sowerby Bridge), I.Nicolson (Luddenden Foot), O.Collinge (Booth), C.Ramsden (Jer Lane).

WAYNE Cotton will captain a much-changed Halifax League line-up to face the Leeds and West Riding League in the Leeds Area Knockout Cup at Garforth on Sunday.

HALIFAX LEAGUE: W.Cotton and S.Beck (Bradshaw), G.Sivyer (wkt) and A.Pinfield (Jer Lane), A.Gardner and C.Metcalf (Northowram HT), M.Baldwin, R.Turner and C.Goulden (Copley), N.Bottomley (Warley) , R. Laycock (Booth).
