FC Halifax Town boss Jim Vince is ready to act on his side's poor scoring record after they drew a blank for the third time in four games against Durham City yesterday.
Town had by far the better of the game but were unable to convert possession into goals as they were forced to settle for a point.

And while Vince believes that once they get one goal at the Shay more will follow, he is ready to shake things up.

"Once we get one we will get two, three and four," he said. "But it is one area of the pitch that isn't going for us at the moment.

"There may be a few changes and that will be rectified.

"We need to be more dynamic in the final third than we have been."

Despite a lack of goals, Town were almost unrecognisable from the side that had performed so poorly at Lancaster City 48 hours earlier.

"It was a massive improvement," said Vince. "But we don't seem to be getting the rub of the green at the moment.

"I said from day one that if we produce the performances the results would take care of themselves and we did enough to win the game.

"We should have been standing here with three points out of the game.

"We are not - but we haven't lost the game."

Vince's plans for the game were disrupted when Ashley Stott withdrew with a foot injury picked up at the Giant Axe.

"He took a kick on Saturday and his ankle ballooned," he said. "It is not worth risking a player in that situation.

"We are desperate to win but not desperate to put our players in jeopardy. We will not do that.

"The idea was to play Nigel Jemson and Ashley Stott together so Ash could feed off what Nigel does.

"We had five players in the treatment room who would have been in the starting line up.

"We are missing Barras, Stott, Morning, Sugden and Clegg and they are five outstanding players."

Stott would have enjoyed playing alongside a fully fit Junior Brown, who ran the Durham defence ragged on occasions.

"People have not seen the best of Junior because he had a virus," said Vince. "But I know how good he is.

"He is a fabulous player and he will get better for us.

"His overall play yesterday was outstanding."

Jon Kennedy made his second debut at the Shay as he was given the nod ahead of Phil Senior.

And Vince is clearly delighted to have bagged the keeper who was with him at Witton Albion last season and the season before.

"He will always be solid," said Vince. "I am very happy to have him here.

"It is unfortunate for Phil Senior, who has done nothing wrong, but for me Jon Kennedy is fantastic.

"He has come here to play and players have to accept that and wait for an opportunity."
