FC Halifax Town have to back up Tuesday's stunning win at Bamber Bridge by beating fellow high flyers Clitheroe at the Shay.
That is the view of new signing Tom Baker who was in fine form in midfield as the Shaymen won 5-2 at Irongate.
The victory moved Town up to seventh and within touching distance of the play-off places.
But it will count for nothing if they are unable to reproduce the same form against second-placed Clitheroe.
"If we go and put in a sloppy performance on Saturday, everything we did on Tuesday will be forgotten," said Baker.
"It is about being consistent and keeping producing performances like Tuesday night's.
"Against Bamber Bridge, from Jon Kennedy in goal through to the lads up front, we were superb.
"I went to Bamber Bridge last season with Bradford Park Avenue when we were top of the league and they turned us over.
"It is such a difficult place to go because they are a good side."
Baker was making his league debut at Irongate, playing for only the second time alongside Scott Phelan and for the first time with Damien Allen in a midfield three.
But everything clicked for the Shaymen with the only blot on the landscape the two goals Bridge scored after Halifax had built up a four-goal advantage.
"We knew it was going to be tough against a team second in the league," said Baker.
"We took the game to them and were a little bit disappointed to have conceded two goals.
"But we scored five away from home against a side who are definitely going to be up there. You cannot complain."
It is only a week since Baker arrived from Town's Unibond Premier neighbours Bradford Park Avenue, a move that surprised and upset the Avenue fans.
"I have seen the messages from Park Avenue supporters saying how sorry they were to see me leave and that's great because they are the ones who pay to watch you every week," he said.
"I enjoyed my time at the club but I just felt it was the right time to move on."
WOODLEY Sports have been thrown out of the Unibond Presidents Cup after handing former Town midfielder Adam Morning his debut in a 3-3 second round draw with Salford City.
Morning had played for the Shaymen in their first round clash with Ossett Albion.
The draw for the third round of the competition is:
Belper Town v Willenhall Town, Chorley v Mossley, Curzon Ashton or Salford v Skelmersdale United or Warrington Town, Durham or Newcastle Blue Star v Wakefield FC, FC Halifax Town or Sheffield FC v Retford United, Lincoln United v Stamford, Rossendale Utd or Bamber Bridge v Trafford, Shepshed Dynamo v Quorn.
Ties to be played on December 8 or 9.
