BACK in August, two goals from James Dean and one from Richard Marshall gave the Shaymen a 3-0 win at Colwyn Bay.
Town begin the last third of the campaign looking for a repeat of their opening day victory in north Wales.
The victory at Llanelian Road - in front of 854 people , fully 500 more than the season's average - was Neil Aspin's first in charge of a competitive game and set the tone for a season that promises much.
They played some fine attacking football as they swept their promotion rivals aside.
And the clean sheet they kept was the first of 10 in the opening 14 matches.
Only Warrington, Chorley and Leigh managed to breach the Town defence before the beginning of October.
And it is that sort of meanness at the back that the manager will want to see repeated between now and the end of April as Halifax look towards the Unibond One North title.
Of course, there is the small matter of Lancaster City in their way, although the vagaries of the fixture planners mean that the Giant Axe outfit are not in action tomorrow.
Victory for the Shaymen would leave them a point behind City having played the same number of games, with the teams heading for an April 10 collision at the Shay.
Town cannot afford to think that they can just turn up to collect the spoils tomorrow.
Colwyn Bay need the points just as much as Aspin's side as they look to bounce back from Tuesday's home defeat to Lancaster.
That reverse leaves the north Welshmen 10 points off top spot and the only automatic promotion berth.
And they will know that they cannot afford a ninth league defeat of the season tomorrow.
Bay have yet to play either of the top two away from home, although they did win at Skelmersdale United and cracked seven past Radcliffe Borough at Stainton Park.
They have also won at Trafford, Mossley and Bamber Bridge among others on their way to the best away record in the division.
In total, Bay have won 11 of their 15 matches on the road, with defeats at Woodley, Leigh and Fylde
Their recent form is not, however, the best with four wins and four defeats in their last eight league outings.
And with Town almost unstoppable on home soil - 14 wins and a draw from their 15 Shay games - they ought to be confident of moving a step closer to top spot.
