IT is second against fourth at the Shay this afternoon when Town entertain Colwyn Bay.
And veteran defender Steve Payne can't wait to get stuck into the action.
Payne was a member of the Town side that won 3-0 in north Wales in the season-opener.
There was a great atmosphere inside Llanelian Road that day with Halifax fans swelling the gate to 854 for Neil Aspin's first competitive game in charge.
And there is likely to be a big crowd at the Shay today for the return.
"It is what it is all about," said Payne. "It is coming to the crunch time of the season and it's a big game.
"We will go in full of confidence and looking to come away with three points - as we do every game.
"The win at Colwyn Bay set the tone for the season.
"We have to make sure we go out today and do the same job.
"We played well at their ground - it was a good professional performance and a good start to the season.
"This is where it really matters now."
Today's home game is one of only three at the Shay in Town's next nine games.
Aspin called for improved results on the road ahead of the midweek game at Warrington and the players obliged with a 3-1 success.
"It was a good start," said Payne. "In the first half we did very well and in the second we expected them to come at us a bit more.
"They had a go and we conceded a sloppy goal again, but thankfully, Deano killed it off at the end."
The goal Warrington scored on Tuesday was the first Town had conceded in three games.
And, like his manager, central defender Payne knows how important a strong defence will be in the last month-and-a-half of the campaign.
"We have said all season if we keep clean sheets we have the firepower up front to win games," he said.
"Nicky is back on song now and hopefully James Dean's goal on Tuesday will start him rolling again.
"As the Gaffer says, get back to defending like we were at the start of the season and we will win matches."
