FC Halifax Town 2 Wakefield FC 1
Ashley Stott bagged a double as Town came from behind to win their Unibond League Cup clash with Wakefield at the Shay.
Town showed just five changes to the side beaten at Nantwich in the FA Cup at the weekend and started brightly without ever testing Andy Woods in the Wakefield goal.
At the other end, Ashley Westcarr sent a shot over off the bar before Jay Sobers was allowed far too much space and lashed home from 30 yards.
Sobers then hit the post and Chris Howarth fired into the side netting when well placed.
But Town levelled 11 minutes before the break when Danny Davidson flicked on and Ashley Stott fired home.
Woods then made a couple of decent saves to deny Adam Morning and Jonathan Smith.
Davidson was denied on a couple of occasions by the linesman's flag after the break.
And Town had to wait until 14 minutes from the end for the winner when Stott turned the ball home from close range.
