And he has pledged to ensure there is improvement on the pitch as the Shaymen go for promotion from Unibond One North at the first attempt.
Town are four points clear at the top of the table, but have plenty of work to do in the final 17 games of the season to stay ahead of Lancaster City and Durham City, who have five and eight games in hand respectively.
"We have seen in flashes whet this team can do," said Vince. "And those flashes are the standard that must be maintained.
"I expect my teams to turn up every week, play well and beat teams.
"That is not happening at the moment, We do not look a complete team and we are not firing on all cylinders, but I will do all I can to get things back on track.
"I am passionate about taking this club forward and if I do not, it will not be for the want of trying.
"I am privileged to be at the club and I am as frustrated as anyone else with the current form."
The frustrations were evident on the terraces at the weekend when a section of the Shay crowd booed the side off following their 1-1 draw with Radcliffe.
Initially Vince was critical of the crowd's reaction but reflecting on it he admitted he understood the response to a game in which Town led through Lincoln Adams only to throw away a couple of valuable points.
"The end of the game is an emotional time and sometimes things are said that shouldn't be," he said.
"The fans have been absolutely brilliant in supporting the team and me in the past five months.
"In retrospect, I understand the booing - the fans were very frustrated because we should be beating teams like Radcliffe - but it wasn't good to hear.
"Because I understand the reasons it hurt more.
"I guess it is down to me to make sure they stop and the only way is through performances on the pitch."
