HALIFAX produced another sensational comeback to snatch a 26-26 draw with Widnes at the Shay.
Matt Calland's side were trailing 26-12 with eight minutes of normal time remaining, but tries from Ben Black and Mark Gleeson, both converted by Graham Holroyd, closed the gap to two points with four minutes remaining.
And Holroyd then stepped up t
o level the scores with a penalty and set the seal on a thrilling afternoon.
Fax trailed 12-6 at half time after falling behind in the eighth minute when Vikings wingman Paddy Flynn scored after a break from full back Ian Hardman.
Steve Tyrer converted, but the home side, who had tries to Black and James Haley chalked off in the opening 40, replied through a Mike Ratu touchdown, goaled by Holroyd.
It stayed that way until the final minute of the half, when Widnes half back Matty Smith sneaked over after Fax failed to find touch with a penalty.
The Vikings stretched their lead after the interval, with back rowers Matt Strong and Paul Noone both scoring and Tyrer adding two conversions to put them 24-6 up.
A Thomas Coyle try, goaled by Holroyd, gave Fax hope, before Coyle was sin binned for obstructing Vikings half back John Duffy, Tyrer kicking the penalty for 26-12.
Fax never gave up though, and got their rewards as the clock ticked down.
