Ziggy's A Star Cars Halifax Sunday League
THE final four teams in the Jonny Mackenzie Senior Cup will become two this weekend as the League's premier cup competition hosts the semi final stage.
Spring Gardens, with realistic hopes of claiming an impressive treble this year, face Shoulder Royd at Elland Cricket Club.
Shoulder may have struggled on their return to the top flight, but they have a decent cup pedigree having impressively knocked out FC Bowling Green in the previous round.
Holmes Park, Luddendenfoot hosts the second semi final tie which sees fancied side Royal Hotel facing a challenge from fellow Premier Division side Bradshaw Phoenix, who themselves have designs on the silverware.
Two Premier Division fixtures are scheduled tomorrow, which see second placed King Cross CB&AC hosting Greetland CC and FC Bowling Green welcoming Hollins Holme to Shroggs Park.
In Division One, leaders Falcon Pine were held to a draw last week and will be looking to return to winning ways in a home game against Halifax Rangers.
Second placed Waiters Arms face a tough 90 minutes against League Cup finalists Bradshaw whilst third placed Engineers visit Brandy Wine.
Carrington Rangers welcome the other League Cup finalists to Beechwood Park in the shape of FC Champs, with Mount Tabor playing Halifax Hammers in the division's other match.
New Division Two leaders Oddfellows will be looking to increase their advantage at the top when they play basement side Halifax Rangers Reserves.
Rangers' second string have to be congratulated in turning up week after week in a season that has seen them concede an average of over eight goals per game in league action so far.
In-form Queens Head will look to cement their promotion credentials when they travel to play Jacks Bar Reserves whilst Church Stile Stallions face an away day against The Vine in a game which may well have a major say in the end of season standings.
Elsewhere, Stubbing Wharf host Elland Sports, who scored no less than 11 goals last week, and King Cross CB&AC Reserves welcome Albert Rovers to Savile Park.
