Greetland dropped their first Premier Division points of the season as Sowerby United gained their first point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Ryburn School.
Greetland started brightly but could not find a way through a well organised home defence in which Hugh Hitchen and Tim Backhouse stood out.

Both sides were playing excellent football and Greetland went ahead when Mark Hindle set up James Greenwoo
d for a well worked goal, but Sowerby deservedly levelled when a Hitchen pass split the defence and John Wilkinson coolly slotted home.

Sowerby slowly got the upper hand with Luke Maguire a constant threat and he got his reward for hard work when he robbed a defender before finishing in style.

Greetland hit back when Carl Ainley scored after latching on to Adam Oldfield's pass but Maguire then made it 3-2 to Sowerby with a fine individual goal before Ainley ensured Greetland got a share of the points with a headed goal deep into stoppage time.

Luddendenfoot continued where they left off last week with an impressive 5-1 win over Stainland.

They applied intense pressure from the start and were rewarded after 12 minutes when a through ball by Darren Smith found Jordan Pettifor and his opportunist strike from 25 yards caught out Darren Robinson in goal and nestled in the bottom left hand corner.

Foot kept the pressure up with Dodd starting to take control in midfield, and on 20 minutes Clegg's corner came out to Alex Austin who cleverly hit a left foot shot strike into the bottom right hand corner.

Clegg continued to impress and Foot kept up the pressure, increasing their lead with a Gaukroger goal.

Karl Jowett broke free for Stainland in the closing minutes only to see his strike well saved by Miles, but it was a sign of things to come as they applied the pressure for the first 20 minutes of the second half.

Sam Hinchliffe and Dan McGreavy were outstanding at the back for Foot, but on 55 minutes Stainland did get the breakthrough with a hotly disputed penalty converted by Rob Gerrard.

They continued to attack and after Miles made another superb save, Jowett broke free only to hit the post.

But Foot rallied once again and Pettifor broke free and smashed an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner.

They were now in a rampant mood and man of the match Pettifor broke through and coolly lobbed Robinson to complete his hat trick and give his side an outstanding 5-1 win against the previously unbeaten Stainland.

In Division One, Holmfield inflicted a quick double over Denholme who were unbeaten before last week's 4-2 defeat at Foster Park.

And this week, the same opponents did even better in the return match with a 7-0 triumph.

Ben Watkins opened the scoring for Holmfield within 10 minutes with a neat finish and Des Morris added the second before two goals from the hard working Danny Tyres made it 4-0 at half time.
