TOP spot in Division Two was Volunteer Arms' reward for ending Junction AFC's unbeaten start to the season, Greg Thomas scoring twice in a 3-2 success.
Copley United are up to second after a 5-3 win over Shelf United Reserves.

Their man of the match Paul Drake was first on the scoresheet after a fumble by the Shelf keeper.

James Murphy doubled the lead with a great volley and although Dean Ste
wart replied, Copley powered into a 4-1 interval lead through Danny Dewick and Murphy.

Shelf hit back through Mick Uttley and Dean Hall and Copley needed some good work from debutant keeper Lee Clewley to keep their noses in front before Drake made the points safe.

Halifax Athletic produced another fine display to beat FC Bulls Head 4-0.

They took the lead when man of the match Andy Huyton flicked on a goal kick and Richard Pearson slotted past the Head keeper.

Halifax went further ahead when a Pearson cross resulted in an own goal, after pressure from Matthew Brook at the back post.

Andrew Hough was in great form in goal as Head tried to hit back and Halifax went 3-0 up when a defensive lapse left Huyton free.

The only goal of the second period came when Brook raced clear and lobbed the Head keeper.

DIVISION Three leaders Greetland Reserves are four points clear at the top after a 2-2 draw at home to Elland Reserves but needed a brace from Carlton Balmer to protect their unbeaten record.

Elland, with Andrew Crystal pulling the strings, took the lead early on and Gary Craddock smashed in a second from 25 yards.

Greetland captain Andy Hurcombe had a penalty well saved by Steve Squires before Balmer grabbed his first just before half time.

Greetland made changes and stepped up their game. Balmer equalised with a superb effort but Elland showed their determination to earn a deserved point.

Sowerby Bridge Reserves, are third after a 6-2 win at home to Salem Reserves.

The visitors lost James Hines with a broken leg early on and home target man Martin Hardcastle scored twice as Bridge went 3-0 up at the break.

Salem responded through Gareth Hart's unstoppable free-kick and Simon Hubert's tap in but a Rick Bamber volley and Arthur Richardson brace settled it.
