MANAGER Mark Brier will give late fitness tests to several players as Brighouse Town prepare for tomorrow's first division trip to Rossington Main.

Danny Ryan and John Booth both picked up knocks in Monday's 4-1 defeat at the hands of Scarborough Athletic.

And there are also doubts over Paul Moore, Ben Charlesworth and Kane Baker although he has been given the all clear after X-rays revealed he did not fracture his jaw for the West Riding County Amateur League side against Lower Hopton in midweek.

Jermaine Manners could be in line for his first appearance while Brier has been able to add Callum Rogers to his squad and both Damian Gomersall and Scott Swann are ready to return.

"We have made tactical changes in the opening games as we continue to assess the players," said Brier. "Tomorrow we might have changes forced on us."

Rossington Main have had a tricky start to the season with just one win in their opening three matches.

That came against high-flying Bottesford, but they have lost 4-1 at home to Hemsworth MW and 6-0 to Leeds Carnegie.

But Brier is not taking any notice of the results in the opening weeks of the new campaign.

"It looks at this stage like any team can beat any other on their day," said Brier

"A lot depends of what players managers have available at this stage of the season.

"We are still very much in that mode ourselves.

"Last Monday we had players on the pitch against Scarborough who are still getting to know each other."

Town have been handed a boost by the progress of youngster Sam Talbot who is impressing the county selectors.

Talbot, who will be in the squad for tomorrow's trip to Rossington, has got through to the final round of the selection process for the West Riding FC under 18 squad.
