West Riding County FA Sunday Trophy

WAITERS Arms continued their 100 per cent start to the season with a hard fought win at Leeds Division One outfit Rosebud Inn in a second round tie.
The game was scrappy for the first 20 minutes with both teams not helped by the sodden surface, but Waiters got their noses in front when a Doyle flick on landed at the feet of top scorer Lee Wood who finished well from the edge of the area.

Roseb
ud then equalised when an uncharacteristic error from Matty Lamb let in Robinson, and after that the game became a frantic midfield battle with Pearson and Park trying their best on the wings to break the deadlock, though with keeper Jamie Lamb and captain Dom Wilson excelling at the back, the home side rarely threatened.

Then with 15 minutes to go veteran player manager Adam Fenton smashed in a 35 yard thunderbolt which went in off the bar to give the Halifax League side the edge, only for Rosebud to equalise straight from the kick off.

The game looked to be heading for extra time until with two minutes to go McDonald was fouled just outside the area and from the free kick Fenton delivered an inch perfect cross for inspirational substitute Rajko Jovanovic to power home an outstanding winner.

Southowram travelled to Huddersfield to take on HD One and came away with a fine 4-2 win.

On an excellent pitch at Leeds Road, they took an early lead through Dave Lee and should have been out of sight by the break.

HD One equalised early in the second half but were soon behind again when Lee headed his second, only for the home side to level it once more.

But the last 15 minutes saw the Rams take control, Porter fired home from 25 yards and Boothroyd clinched victory after 85 minutes heading home from close range.
