FANS have backed Halifax Town's Centre of Excellence with a shirt sponsorship deal.
The Halifax Town Supporters' Trust will feature on the shirts of all nine teams including the under 19s who will represent FC Halifax Town in this season's FA Youth Cup.
The Trust was keen to build on the partnership created when Nick Fletcher, head of co-ordination, was co-opted onto the trust society board and sees the sponsorship of the organisation as a solid base to build on.
Over recent years, between 20 and 30 players have moved on to clubs at a similar or higher level to where FC Halifax Town currently are, playing at either professional or semi-professional clubs.
Trust chairman Gavin Butler said it was important the club got the pick of the best players from the area.
"We want to support the Centre of Excellence in hopefully bringing through the next stars of FC Halifax Town," he said.
"Home-grown talent has been in short supply at the Shay for quite some time so we are excited about building our partnership and working with Nick and his colleagues as they continue with their excellent work."
Des Hazel, the club's head of youth development, said: "We are delighted to formalise this sponsorship deal with the supporters' trust. We are confident that this will help the centre attract the best young talent in the Calderdale area to FC Halifax Town.
"We have the structure in place to provide future players for the football club. In order to further develop our organisation the sponsorship provided by HTST will help ensure the players continue to receive excellent support and coaching."
