Halifax staged a late fightback to claim a share of the spoils after they found themselves 2-0 down in their Unibond League Division One North clash at Garforth.
Town handed a debut to new signing Damien Allen, a former Morecambe midfielder whose last club was Droylsden.
And they had virtually all the possession in the first half but didn not have the guile to break down Garforth's defence.
Allen curled an effort over the bar, Nigel Jemson - playing sweeper - smacked a free kick narrowly wide and Junior Brown hit the side netting.
But it was the home side who broke the deadlock after 34 minutes when the Town defence failed to clear and Mark Piper pounced to fire home.
Brown fired over early in the second half while Jemson hammered a free kick just over the top.
But Garforth doubled their advantage when Duncan Williams capitalised on a Jon Kennedy error to fire home.
Brown started the Town fightback three minutes later when he headed home an Allen corner from the left hand side.
And Kris King headed homea Brown corner with two minutes remaining to give the Shaymen a point.
