HALIFAX have announced their first pre season outing, with a trip to Super League neighbours Huddersfield Giants confirmed for Sunday, January 10 (3.0).
The annual derby date, traditionally played at the Shay over Christmas for the Infirmary Cup, will be part of England prop Eorl Crabtree's testimonial year.
"The Giants will provide top quality opposition for us going into the new season," said Fax chief executive Graham Clay, who confirmed the fixture was likely to be a step up from the usual second-string fodder.
"Both clubs are committed to fielding the strongest sides possible."
Admission prices will be £13 adults, £10 concessions and £5 juniors. Hospitality packages and executive boxes are also available.
Fax are close to agreeing two other pre-season fixtures, including at least one against another Super League side, but neither looks likely to be at the Shay.
"We had hoped to host a Super League club at home on January 24, but we are still waiting for confirmation that the East Stand will be operational by then," said Clay.
Clay also confirmed the club would not be playing games over the Christmas holiday period.
