HOMEGROWN youngster Andy Bowman could be back in the Halifax line up when Matt Calland's side host Widnes on Sunday.
The 20 year old loose forward has made two appearances this year, making a try scoring debut against Batley at the beginning of May.
But with Jon Goddard, David Larder, Sean Penkywicz and Dana Wilson all facing indefinite lay offs, and prop David Wrench also absent through injury, Bowman has been named in Calland's initial 19 man selection for the clash with the Vikings.
"Andy did well for us last time he played, and he was probably unfortunate to drop out," said Calland, who has also issued recalls to forwards Joe Walsh and Danny Heaton, winger Lee Greenwood, centre Mike Ratu and veteran utility back Damian Gibson.
"It's his bad luck that he plays in a position where we have so many options.
"But he has been playing well in the reserves, and has trained strongly this week, so there's a good chance he will be involved on Sunday.
"It's a big game for him, just as it is for a few of the other players.
"They've all got the potential to be real stars in the side, but they need to take their opportunities when they present themselves.
"It's not called the business end of the season for nothing, the performance of the team and the results are important at this time of year, but it's also a time when players are looking to secure their own futures.
"I'm confident our form will really go up another level over the next few weeks."
Bowman's inclusion looks to be a direct reaction to the question mark over full back Miles Greenwood, who has not trained since the 34-22 win over the Centurions with a severe dead leg.
Incumbent loose forward Shad Royston would be the favourite to cover for the 20 year old.
"Miles has struggled all week," said Calland.

HALIFAX'S second string lost out 48-24 at Keighley last night.

Hull back row forward Matty Dale, who spent a month on loan at Wakefield earlier this year, is to join National League One club Featherstone for the rest of the season.
The 21-year-old, who has made seven Super League appearances this season, will join his former Hull team-mate Anthony Thackeray at Post Office Road.
