OLD Brodleians travel to Hartlepool Rovers for a North One East clash.
Brods produced a decent performance against league leaders Sandal last week and with a little more luck – and composure – could have been got something from the game.

It was another superb performance from the pack and the scrum continues to imp
rove every week.

Matt Willis and Tom Hanson remain in the second row. Stevie Shaw is once again unavailable so youngster Andy Finn gets the nod at number 7 to play with Nabeel Salama and Ollie Akroyd. The pack will need to soak up a lot of pressure from the Hartlepool pack and then win their own ball to provide enough possession.

Gareth Standeven is unavailable due to Scott Rook's wedding and he will be missed. However, it is a big opportunity for Liam Scott to play in his favoured number 13 position alongside the increasingly impressive Jonny Hotham.

RISHWORTHIANS take a rest from league and cup action, but field a strong team for a friendly fixture against Colne and Nelson.

The two sides used to play each other on a regular basis before the start of the league system, but have only met occasionally since.

For Rishworthians it will be a useful fixture as they prepare for the last two league games before Christmas - away to Thornensians next week and home to Aireborough the week after, both of which will be tough propositions.

For the Copley men, three-try hero of last week's win, winger Anthony Shoesmith, drops back to fullback allowing Nick Faulkner to return, with Joe Billing moving to the centre.

Max Prashad returns to the back row, while Chris Fox fills in at No 8 for the unavailable James Clarke, with Martin Brook slotting in at lock.

HALIFAX Vikings have a friendly fixture against Mosborough as they prepare for tough league fixtures next week.

"Mixing and matching and introducing new players along side our experienced players is paying dividends which bodes well for the future," said coach John Henry.

"We hope to finish top of the league at the Christmas break and the Dukes side to be in the top five of their league.

"That would be a great result considering where the club was in May of this year."

Halifax Dukes are due to play Rishworthians at Copley.
