PROMOTED Halifax Vandals Ladies kick off their 2008-09 campaign in RFUW North Challenge One when they entertain Leeds Leos Ladies seconds at Warley tomorrow (3.0).
Expectations are high after Vandals won promotion as undefeated champions last year.
Club chairman Neil Crossley said: "The ladies section has gone from strength to strength since it was established two seasons ago.
"Our ladies coach, Shaun Donla
n, has worked tirelessly to develop and keep the squad together through the turbulence of sporadic fixtures and opposition who were too intimidated by our success to turn up.
" We're really pleased the ladies have pulled through and the spirit amongst the growing squad is now as strong as it's ever been.
"The ladies' game is a very different spectacle to the men's but no less entertaining - we're looking forward to entertaining teams from as far a field as Morpeth and Liverpool."
Donlan said the side captained by Rachel Hobson would have a different look to it with departed players replaced following active recruitment .

A contrite Gavin Henson claims he "fully accepts" the two-match Heineken Cup ban imposed on him by the Ospreys.
The Wales centre will miss tomorrow's Pool Three opener against Leicester at Welford Road, plus a home game with Perpignan next Saturday.
Henson said: "Having received feedback from team management earlier in the week as part of a review of the Ospreys' last home game, I reacted poorly and additionally took unauthorised leave to consider the matters raised.
"I fully accept this decision and entirely support the penalty imposed, and very much look forward to rejoining my team-mates on the field."
