OLD Crossleyans will be out to make amends for last week's below-par showing at Pontefract when they again tackle white rose opposition in the form of Sandal at Broomfield tomorrow (3.0).
Chris Jones's men slipped from third to fourth place in North One East as a result of their 19-18 defeat against Pontefract, who had done the double over them last season.

A similar uninspired display tomorrow is unlikely to be good enough against
a second-placed Sandal side who continued their pursuit of leaders Billingham last week with a 39-22 home win over Morpeth.

At least Crocs are able to name a strong team with Manny Riaz returning to the back row. The Crocs are short of cover in this area of the team and Mark Thomas, who had to play at No 8 last week, is undoubtedly more effective when he can play open side.

Lock Kevin McGill faces a fitness test and Rory Davis is on standby if he doesn't make it.

Crocs have a decent recent record against the Wakefield side, beating them 20-13 away at the end of January - a win which boosted their subsequently unsuccessful promotion bid last season.

A penalty try 10 minutes from time in that game, when Crocs were denied the chance to score a pushover try, gave them victory at Milnthorpe Park.

The home men will be hoping their tried and tested front five can make their presence felt again tomorrow.
