OVENDEN West Riding will be bidding to make it three wins out of three when they travel to play Lower Hopton at Mirfield in the Premier Division tomorrow (2.30).
They travel full of confidence after bagging six goals in their opening two matches.
Central defender Richard Ingram took his tally for the season to three with a couple at Wibsey on Wednesday evening with Grant Pearson also on target in a 3-1 win.
"It was a good win," said boss Mark Duffy. "Wibsey battled hard but we were just too much for them.
"The only disappointment was that they scored in the last minute. I would have loved to have got another clean sheet.
"We are creating chances and the goals are coming from all over the park."
Duffy is likely to be without Ben Hamer (injured), Rob Gerrard (unavailable) and Andy Wilkinson (working) but has been boosted by Paul Hand's continuing progress.
The former Halifax Town defender played another 20 minutes in midweek as Ovenden moved to the top of the table.
"I am not surprised by the start we have made," said Duffy. "We have got a good squad together and you can see the quality in training.
"After Wednesday we turn our thoughts to tomorrow and three wins out of three would be nice."
Halifax Irish play their first home game of the season when they entertain Ardsley Celtic and will be looking to build on an impressive 1-0 win at Campion in midweek.
Matthew Banks scored the only goal of that game when he rose above everyone to head home in the first half.
And Irish then put up some fierce resistance under increasing pressure to bag the points.
"It was a very good win and one we worked hard for," said boss Richard Addy.
"I had Shaun Gibbons, Alex Tate and Jake Travis in a three-man midfield and we played some fantastic football.
"We were under the cosh for long periods of the game after we scored, but we defended very well.
"We have got four points from the first three games - and none of them have been easy - and now we have a home game
"We can only go on from here."
Addy will be without Steve Galloway and Travis for tomorrow's game, but Nathan Wood, Michael Pearson and Brian Matthews are all available.
And the manager will be checking on the likes of Liam Cairns and Gary Jones who play for the Irish second string this evening.
Like Irish, Brighouse Town recorded their first win of the campaign in midweek when Matthew Roy bagged the only goal of their game against Lower Hopton at St Giles Road in injury time.
"Lower Hopton are probably the best team we have played and we did really well," said boss Mark Booth who will be looking to add some experience to a young side in the coming weeks.
"It was pleasing to get a win under our belts. It takes the pressure off a bit."
Booth's side face an equally stern test tomorrow when they entertain Meltham who won their opening game of the season 6-0 against Golcar on Wednesday night.
"It will be tough," said Booth. "And we have to keep an eye on Tom Matthews who got 40-odd goals last season."
Matthews bagged two of Meltham's six goals in midweek as they finally got underway after a couple of postponements.
Booth will have Alex Hallam and Dave Phelps available.
