OVENDEN made the long trip to Cumbria a successful one and maintained their relentless progress up the Conference Division Two table.
Their fourth successive win came on the back on some solid defence and attractive open rugby which pinned Egremont in their own half for most of the game, and the home side's occasional forays posed little threat.

e in the first half and their forwards were soon on top.
Brett Steele opened the scoring when he pounced on a Chris Hartley kick through on the last tackle into the in-goal area. Hartley added the conversion.
Ovenden continued to press and a flowing move along the back line ended with Hartley extending the lead to 10-0.
Egremont pulled back four points with virtually their only assault on the Ovenden line during the course of the game.
A Hartley penalty made it 12-4 at half time.
The Ovenden forwards charged down the slope and fluent passing resulted in Steve Gracey touching down. Hartley converted.
Man of the match Liam Walsh was on the end of another good passing movement with the outstanding Tom Palmer making the decisive pass. Hartley obliged with the easy conversion.
That made it 24-4 and some fantastic defensive snuffed out Egremont hopes of a revival.
Ovenden had four tries ruled out with the last of them in particular appearing to be a 50/50 decision by the referee.
Matt Turner gave no room for the official to question Ovenden's final score when he crashed over the Egremont line after strong visiting pressure in the final stages, Hartley's kick rounding off a superb victory.
