SIDDAL made it three wins on the bounce in the top section of the National Conference League with a solid, workmanlike victory over a visiting side who had started the day level on 12 points with the Chevinedge men.
Lee Greenwood's side had plenty of possession, tackled well and maintained their improved discipline to make it six wins out of nine this season.
The half-back pairing of Shaun Garrod and Lee Gudor is blossoming while veteran props Gary Lewis and
Jamie Wrigley continue to show the way up front in a team which made light of the absences of Luke Garnett, James Simeunovich, Mark Boothroyd, Mick Shaw and Richard Pearson through injury or illness.
Leigh East started like a house on fire and took the lead after four minutes when prop Craig Winfield made a blindside break and off-loaded superbly for winger Mark Kay to score an unconverted try.
The home side were on terms four minutes later following a set piece move, Gudor's superb pass enabling Nick Smith to go 20 yards to the line.
A Brad Attwood penalty after 10 minutes made it 6-4 and Siddal stretched clear on 21 minutes when Garrod's kick bounced back into his arms off a Leigh player and he touched down for a try converted by Attwood.
The visitors lost stand off Danny Kilshaw to the sin bin for persistent holding down on 30 minutes.
Ryan Peters and Attwood traded penalties after the break to make it 14-6 but Leigh cut the gap to four points when second rower Simon Stevens paved the way for Kay to cross in the corner for his second try.
Siddal put the game to bed on 67 minutes when Garrod chipped ahead and Gudor collected before drawing fullback Ryan Fieldhouse and sending Garrod over. Garrod added the goal with Attwood off the field due to a cut head.
A scuffle led to late yellow cards for Wrigley and Winfield and Kilshaw joined them on the sidelines when he questioned the referee's decision.
