Twin brothers Reece and Travis Robinson scored 24 points between them as Lebanon beat a disappointing Ireland 40-16 in the third-place play-off match in Maesteg.
The Cedars, who lost out to Ireland in qualifying for the 2008 World Cup, seized the initiative with the aid of three tries in the first 11 minutes through Adnan Saleh, Joshua Mansour and Travis Robinson
There was no way back for the Irish once Jamie Clark and Travis Robinson added further tries and, although Halifax centre James Haley pounced for two tries in six minutes, Reece Robinson's 80-metre interception try on the stroke of half-time snuffed out the fightback.
Daniel Chiha added a seventh try early in the second half and Reece Robinson took his goal tally to four before Ireland captain and Fax hooker Bob Beswick scored a consolation try and Liam Finn kicked his second conversion.
Reece Robinson then capped a man-of-the-match performance by scooping up a loose ball near his own line and sprinting 90 metres for his second try.

Iestyn Harris watched his young Wales team become European champions for the first time for 14 years - and immediately set his sights on the Four Nations and the 2013 World Cup.
Wales twice came from behind in an entertaining clash in Bridgend yesterday to beat Scotland 28-16 in the final of the rugbyleague.com European Cup.
The prize for the winners next year will be a place in the 2011 Four Nations, and Harris says there is no limit to the ambitions of his improving side.
"France will come down and they're going to be tough to beat," he conceded.
"But if they keep adapting themselves the way they have done and with players who have had injuries coming back into the system, the sky is the limit for this group.
"I really think we can challenge France next year and challenge all the other teams."
Harris admitted his side's victory in only his fourth match in charge exceeded his initial expectations - but warned that success will not come easy over the next few years.
"I think we're way ahead of schedule," he said.
"When I took over I said it was going to be a building process and probably didn't realise what quality I had in the youngsters coming through.
"Any success along way, we'll grab it. But it's going to be a roller-coaster. They are young boys, and there's going to be ups and downs along the way.
"Next year is a target because we want to go into the Four Nations, but our ultimate goal is the 2013 World Cup."
Harris is predicting big futures for Crusaders full-back Elliot Kear, who was man of the match, and stand-off Lloyd White - not far behind after scoring a try and two goals.
"I think you will be seeing a fair bit of them in Super League," he added.
"They got thrown in at the deep end in the last six or seven games of the season, and I think it stood them in good stead.
"They've had a taste of what Super League is about and what international rugby is about - and they want some more of it.
"Elliot, especially, was way off four weeks ago - and we tested him more than anyone else. He found it hard at times but today showed what a good player he is going to be.
"I think he has got the ability to go to the top in this game and I'm sure he will - because his will to win and to excel in what he does is pretty impressive. There is a lot to come from Lloyd as well."
Wales captain Jordan James, who made his 17th consecutive appearance when he played in the final, was named player of the tournament.
