Pennine League
SIDDAL A pulled off one of the results of last weekend with a well deserved win at home to previously unbeaten St Josephs, and they hope to follow that up when they make the longest trip of the season tomorrow as they travel to York to play New Earswick All Blacks.
Over the past couple of years, the All Blacks have performed well in the Premier since joining the Pennine League at Division One level from the Yorkshire League three seasons ago, but current form leaves them with just one win out of five and a vict
ory away here is well within Siddal's grasp.
On the moor at Savile Park, Halifax Irish should have few problems in dispatching Crigglestone All Blacks.
The Wakefield side, who like Siddal A are new to the Premier this season, have found life difficult in so far and with Irish now starting to show some of their title winning form from last season this should be two points in their favour.
King Cross Park upset the form book last weekend in Division One with a magnificent victory at home to unbeaten Emley Moor and should get the two points from their trip to Dodworth tomorrow.
Elland look like they might be in for a tough time when they travel to unbeaten Kippax Welfare whilst Illingworth face a tricky time at home to West Bowling A.
This week's local derby is in Division Two at Four Fields where Ovenden A host rivals Greetland All Rounders.
Ovenden look favourites with four wins from four but Greetland will have a positive attitude after a narrow six point defeat last week at divisional leaders Westgate Wolves.
After last week's no show at Victoria Rangers, it hoped Calder Valley can get their numbers together tomorrow when they host Dearne Valley Bulldogs.
Hipperholme Warriors in Division Three have been given two weeks off by the Pennine League in order to get over an injury crisis so the Brighouse derby scheduled for tomorrow has been put on hold for the time being.
But some quick fixture restructuring now sees scheduled opponents Brighouse Rangers take on table toppers Sharlston Rovers A in what could be a decisive fixture .
There is another derby in Division Four where Rangers' A team go to Stainland Stags.
Brighouse have numbers in force now and though a young side should come together soon, though if recent form is to go by Stainland should take the points.
