Great news that this splendid facility will finally be available to the people of Halifax.
I had a behind the scenes tour some months ago and it is all very impressive. For everyone who has grown up with the Shay - from the old third division to skating rink to speedway - it has always had the potential to be a first rate sports arena. Now at last the new stand matches what has always been a much admired pitch. May it soon be hosting Town games in higher divisions... sorry I still can't get my head around RL at The Shay! I hope there are some plans to have an official opening that will bring back some of the players that graced the field over the years.

It'd be good if the new stand attracted more fans.

#2 why have i had my comment deleted? am i not allowed an opinion? i wasn't abusive ,i didn't swear. Or is it the simple fact that i'm right and someone does not like to be reminded of it. It wasn't someone from the Rugby/Council Boardroom was it? probably.

Any truth in the rumour that the "wrong" seats were ordered and delivered (at Council cost !!) for the EAST STAND .
That these have been sold off cheaply and no heads have rolled !! WHY ??
Oh, it's not their money, SO IT DOESN'T MATTER !!

Talk about scatter cash by Council numpties !!

Good to see it open at last. As a faxfan I would like to see bigger crowds and Town playing in a higher league next year. There is room for two teams in Halifax.
