ASHLEY Stott bagged a first-half double and Jonathan Smith scored seven minutes from time as FC Halifax Town moved into the first qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Former Bangor City frontman Stott headed home the opener at the near post from a Junior Brown cross after 25 minutes.
And he doubled the Shaymen's advantage four minutes before the break, firing home from the penalty spot after Daniel McNulty had handled a Justin Walker cross.
Stott might have scored as early as the sixth minute, but headed Luke Hinsley's header over the bar.
And skipper Steve Payne had a header cleared off the line by former Shayman Craig Smith.
Silsden made a dream start to the second half with Daniel Moriarty heading home Martin Packer's cross three minutes after the restart.
And the they were the better side for long spells, although Jon Kennedy's only real save came in the 72nd minute from a Craig Smith free kick.
Town's nerves were finally settled with seven minutes remaining when, after Brown's initial shot had been blocked, Jonathan Smith was on hand to fire home the rebound.
