HALIFAX could be heading to France in 2009, with speculation mounting that Toulouse will be offered a place in an expanded National League One next season.
The French side are one of the 19 applicants for a Super League licence next year, but, like Fax, are tipped to miss out when the Rugby Football League announce which 14 teams have been accepted into the top flight at a Leeds hotel at 10am on Tuesday morning.
Now Courier Sport understands that plans have been discussed to include Toulouse in an 11-team National League One next season, presumably in an attempt to help them build a more credible bid for the next round of franchise applications in 2011.
Fax officials flatly refused to comment on the situation, but there is speculation an official announcement will follow hot on the heels of Tuesday's news, possibly within 24 hours.
