CLASSIC dance hits, flares, glitter and big hair – it's time to go back to the '70s and be engulfed by a Disco Inferno! Students from Stage Door Studio Workshop, St James Street, Halifax, are tracking back more than 30 years to the era of glitter balls, glam rock, platform soles and soul sounds.
The 1970s will come alive again at The Playhouse, Halifax, from Tuesday to Saturday, when Anne Redfern and Janet Fletcher present the musical show Disco Inferno on behalf of Stage Door Studio.

It is 1976 and Jack works as a cleaner in a London club. He longs for fame and fortune. One night, he is given the promise of stardom – but at what price?

Anne said: "This high-kicking, all-singing and all-dancing musical has strong characters and is full of hits.

It is crammed full with high-energy numbers that are bound to get toes tapping and hands clapping.

"It has a compelling score, including some beautiful ballads, matched with a dramatic and sharp, humorous script with a feel-good ending, lending itself to great singing and dancing from all students.

"Disco Inferno features devilishly good music with more than 25 hit songs from the 1970s."

Tickets start at £7.50, with group discounts available. The show is staged nightly at 7.15pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm.

Tickets can be ordered from Anne, tel: 01422 200334 or by calling The Playhouse box office, tel: 01422 365998.
