Aluminium anarchy

The Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, has gone metal mad.
The venue has been transformed to mark the arrival of The Aluminum Show, which was a huge hit at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The production stops off in Bradford from Tuesday to Saturday, September 6, for a week of aluminium anarchy. The metamorphosis sees huge "metal men" scaling the front of the building.
The Aluminum Show is described as "an ingenious creation of visual theatre, combining dance, puppetry and illusion to stunning effect" and has already been a touring sensation in Europe.
The production was devised by artistic director Ilan Azriel, a former dancer in Tel Aviv's Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.
With the assistance of a skilful and flexible cast of dancers and acrobats, worms slither menacingly across the stage; huge pillows float cloudlike through the air; a giant stalks the auditorium and two pipes tenderly woo each other. Wordless, but accompanied by an original soundtrack, this is a show aimed to appeal to people of all ages, languages and cultures.
Since it was first performed at the Israel Festival in Jerusalem in 2003, The Aluminum Show has toured Israel, Argentina, Russia and mainland Europe, as well as taking up lengthy residencies in Athens, Lisbon and Atlantic City.
Tickets range in price from £8.50 to £22.50. Box office: 01274 432000.
