TOP bands from across the north west will descend on Calderdale this weekend for a bank holiday bonanza of free live music.
A host of musicians will be appearing at The Doghouse Puzzle Fest at the newly reopened Puzzle Hall Inn, Sowerby Bridge, tomorrow and Sunday.
There is a weekend of live rock music – Shantstock – at The Shant, Holmfield, Halifax, raising money for three charities.
And Bank Holiday Monday sees a music festival at the Piece Hall, Halifax, from midday to 5.30pm, featuring seven West Yorkshire outfits including i.e, The Captives, State of Error and Anola Gray.
Manchester band It's a Buffalo will headline at The Puzzle Fest on Sunday. Their manager Eric Anderton said: "The band are one of the fastest rising bands in Manchester at the moment. They have done sessions on BBC radio, been featured in NME and have played Glastonbury. This year has seen the lads on the road touring with The Courteeners and putting on their own shows in Manchester to increasingly large crowds." A host of other pubs and clubs in Calderdale are also putting on live bands over the weekend. The Trades Club, Hebden Bridge, will be raising cash for the Disasters Emergency Committee with live music tomorrow, Sunday and Monday (£5 per day, £12 for the weekend).
